The Law Academy Ltd specialises in CILEx training. This means our Directors and tutors are fully dedicated to you and your CILEx courses.
Our tutors are qualified, experienced lawyers who will be teaching modules that mirror their chosen specialised areas of law.
We are one of the largest private class based providers in the country and pride ourselves on the support we give our students.
Keep up to date with news from us
We have a strong team of tutors, many of who have loyally taught our students for many years.
We do also like to keep a record of people who have registered an interest in future positions if they become available.
Our CILEx tutors are all qualified Lawyers or have a teaching qualification and experience. In general, they teach between 2 – 6 hours a week, usually in an evening. This may not sound a lot, but an academic term is approximately 14 weeks and a lot of tutors teach for a full academic year of 30 weeks, so it is a commitment.
The preparation for a class is also essential. Students are quick to recognise when a tutor is ill prepared and can lead to an unfair and uncomfortable situation for all.
The rewards however are great and the reason why so many people hugely enjoy teaching for The Law Academy. The average age of our students is mid 20’s but can vary a lot. Some join us leaving school as an alternative to University. Others have been working in a legal environment for many years before deciding the time is right to gain the qualifications. Class sizes vary from 8 - 18 students.
Our tutors all enjoy nurturing and encouraging our students as they progress through the 4-year qualification. This includes making the classes engaging and interesting, preparing them for the exams and feeding back to them on progression through assessments and mock exams. Tutors need to be imaginative, engaging, patient and caring. Most of all, they need to really want to tutor and help develop the next generation of CILEx Lawyers.
We support our tutors by giving advice, ideas and holding regular meetings to enable tutors to share ideas and provide support to each other. Every tutor has at least 2 class observations a year to enable feedback and advice for development. The current team members are all excellent at communicating with each other and providing invaluable help and advice when needed.
We also have tutors who assist our e-learning students by marking assessments online, providing video feedback and general advice and guidance in readiness for forthcoming exams.
