HELEN MILLER F.Inst.L.Ex, Cert. Ed.
Helen qualified as a Legal Executive during her 12 year employment with Hill Dickinson Solicitors. She specialised in Civil Litigation, with the main element of her position involving advocacy before District Judges in chambers across the many County Courts in the North West.
Following voluntary redundancy in January 2001, Helen retrained as a law lecturer gaining her Certificate in Education through the University of Central Lancashire. Whilst studying for this qualification she taught Level 6 ILEX Civil Litigation and Contract Law in Ormskirk College for 3 years.
As a Director and Company Secretary of the Law Academy Ltd, Helen has taught Level 6 ILEX Civil Litigation, Contract Law and Level 3 practice courses for the company and also is very involved in the day to day running and expansion of the Law Academy. She is developing strong links with Merseyside firms of solicitors and hopes to meet their training needs through the development of short practical courses for employees in the future in particular addressing the training of support staff.
An aspect of her work she particularly enjoys is building good relationships with the students and their employers. She develops an excellent rapport with her students and is head of student liaison. She is also confident dealing with employers' enquiries whilst working closely with key figures at ILEX.
